Job Summary: Provide professional, friendly and responsive food and beverage service to bar guests. Create and build craft cocktails, pour wine and serve beer and N/A beverages for bar guests and for service well in a manner consistent with our service standards. Apply yourself to learning new skills and contribute to an environment of teamwork, efficiency, open-mindedness, and communication. 

Activities & Responsibilities: 

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Cypress by the Revenir. 

• Answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services. 

• Make and serve cocktails for bar guests and service well in a timely, professional and efficient manner. 

• Pour and serve beer, wine, spirits, sake and non-alcoholic beverages for bar guests and service well in a timely, professional and efficient manner. 

• Be knowledgeable about all of our cocktails, bar inventory and wine offerings. 

• Be prepared to curate and suggest wine and beverage pairings to complement our menu. 

• Work and communicate with all FOH and BOH staff to ensure excellent, consistent service for all guests. 

• Serve alcohol safely and ethically, following our standards and state ATC laws. 

• Serve food safely and professionally, following our standards and health code.

 • Ring in orders to POS correctly and promptly. 

• Start tabs and collect cash and card payments from guests.

• Communicate needs and issues to bar team and management promptly and professionally. 

• Prep and stock bar and work with barback team to ensure we are fully prepared on a shift-by-shift basis. 

• Maintain a safe, organized and clean workspace. 

• Opening setup and closing breakdown duties to be completed in a timely manner. 

• Promote a healthy environment for all staff by engaging thoughtfully and using appropriate channels of communication to resolve intrapersonal issues. 

• Attend and contribute to all scheduled employee meetings.

 Skills & Requirements: 

• Knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, beer and wine. 

• Nighttime and weekend availability. 

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize steps of service. 

• Use cash register and tablet-based Point of Sale system. 

• Possess Shreveport ABO license and ServSafe alcohol certification.

When interacting with our guests we want them to feel like they are participating in establishing a new and innovative food and drink culture. A server at Cypress is responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience from start to finish by offering prompt, courteous and even educational service. This position requires outstanding communication skills, excellent time management, a willingness to learn and grow new concepts, a passion for food, an understanding of the importance of teamwork and the ability to follow through.

 Primary Responsibilities: 

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Cypress by the Revenir. 

• Answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.

 • Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems. 

• Take food or beverage orders from guests. 

• Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. 

• Inform guests of any menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. 

• Write guests’ food orders on order slips and enter orders into Point-of-sale terminal for transmittal to kitchen staff. 

• Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. 

• Prepare drinks for guests and chill bottles of wine. 

• Describe and recommend wines to guests. 

• Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. 

• Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for guests. 

• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning. 

• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. 

• Collect payments from guests. 

• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return. 

• Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining. 

• If needed, assist host or hostess by answering phone, greeting, seating, and thanking guests. 

• Set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties. 

• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and napkins. 

• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as napkins, silverware, glassware and QR code. 

• Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
